I'm a PhD Candidate in the Schmitz Lab at the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies and a Research Affiliate with at the Wildlife Institute of India. I grew up in Sebastopol in northern California amidst redwood groves and apple orchards and was captivated early on by the challenge of conserving natural ecosystems across human-dominated landscapes. I received my BA in Organismal Biology from Claremont McKenna College in 2007 and in 2008 studied pheasants in the Great Himalayan National Park on a Fulbright Scholarship in India. Before beginning my PhD, I worked with Richard Thorington on squirrel morphology at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. I am an avid hiker, photographer and yoga practitioner and enjoy watching Bollywood movies, painting and drinking chai.
